TRIVANDRUM: While the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharath Jodo yatra flaunts the unison among congress workers to the maximum, something of the contrary is unfurling in the southern state of Kerala where the congress is breaking up with rising discord among party workers. It was barely days before that Sashi Tharoor MP took a tour to Perunna to meet NSS chief G Sukumaran Nair which grabbed headlines for all the wrong reasons. The slowly rising Turmoil took a different shape after Tharoor opened up his desire about contesting in the next legislative election. There is no denying that the Thiruvananthapuram MP enjoys a good support base in his hometown, but the quick decision has raised the eyebrows of many within congress. So, it was up to V D Satheeshan to respond by saying it is not the individual but the party that decides who to contest where.
"Any decision or desire should be first brought to the party. It breaks all ounces of formality to open up a desire towards the media before discussing it with the party," V D Satheeshan opined.
Two days back Tharoor teased a thought of shifting his political turf to Kerala from Delhi. The prospect has irked many within the Kerala congress, where the general mood has always been hostile to Tharoor, unlike Delhi. K Muraleedahran also made comments similar to Tharoor saying he wishes to contest from Vadakara in the coming Lok Sabha election.
