NEW DELHI: The Congress has blamed the central government by presenting the details of people renouncing the Indian citizenship. The Congress has demanded through a press conference that the central government should respond to the increase in the number of citizens renouncing citizenship in the last ten years. The Congress spokesperson criticized the BJP government by presenting documents which claimed to be belonged to the Ministry of External Affairs.
Party spokesperson Gourav Vallabh alleged that there has been a huge increase in people renouncing citizenship compared to the UPA rule. “Compared to 2014, there has been a two-fold increase. 1.83 lakh people renounced their citizenship in the first ten months of last year. 1,83,741 people to be exact.”, he said. He added that figures indicate that 604 people leave the country every day.
Gourav Vallabh demanded an official reply from the central government on the issue. Meanwhile, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar had commented last month that there will be a change in the migration of youth from India to other countries. He said that no one will have to migrate from the country to other countries due to lack of opportunities and there have been changes in the country's conditions. The Union Minister mentioned that the youths are returning to India from the European countries during a discussion with the youths at the Thamarassery Diocese headquarters in Kozhikode.
