KOCHI: Kerala was shocked to hear that a man had killed his wife and buried her body on the premises of his house in Njarackal. Nayarambalam native Ramya was strangled to death by her husband on August 16, 2021. Now, more details have come out regarding the case.
According to Ramya's brother, the accused Sajeevan told his children that their mother had eloped with someone after a quarrel. Sajeevan also told the children not to tell this to anyone as it will bring shame to the family. He taught them to say that Ramya had gone outside to study. When relatives and neighbours inquired about Ramya, Sajeevan used to say that she had gone to Bengaluru for studies. Ramya's brother said that he later became suspicious of the children's words and that they did not know anything.
Sajeevan told the police that he killed Ramya on August 16, 2021, while staying on rent in Vachakkal. His suspicion about his wife led to the murder. He strangled Ramya to death during the day and buried her body in the night.
Ramya went missing a year and a half ago. Later, her relatives lodged a missing complaint with the police. Following this, Sajeevan also lodged a complaint with the police saying that his wife was missing. Following the human sacrifice case, the police had collected information about the missing women and intensified their investigation. The information about the shocking murder came to light during the subsequent investigation. The police had questioned Sajeevan and released him the other day. The information about the murder came out this morning when they questioned him again after taking him into custody.
