Vande Bharat Express has encountered several problems since its launch as it rammed into cattle on several occasions. Most of the accidents have occurred on the Gandhinagar-Mumbai route. The front part of the train has been partially damaged at times leading to disruption in services. The Prime Minister flagged off the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vandebharat Express train service on September 30.
Vande Bharat trains are locally manufactured in India. The trains on this route have the distinction of implementing 'kavach' technology. 'Kavach' technology is a system to prevent collision between two trains coming in opposite direction.
