CHENNAI: The girl, who was gang raped at Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu, is a Keralite. A six-member team had gang-raped her on Thursday evening at Sevlimedu in Kancheepuram. The police have arrested all the six accused in the case.
Two people first reached the place where the girl and her boyfriend were sitting. They held the boyfriend at knifepoint and then dragged the girl to a forest and raped her. Then four more reached there and gang-raped her. The couple together went to the police station and lodged a complaint. The girl seriously injured is undergoing treatment.
The police arrested five accused on Friday. Manikandan, Vimal, Sivakumar, Thennarasu and Vignesh, natives of Perumbathur in Kancheepuram are the arrested. The sixth accused was arrested today. Police said the accused sustained injuries when they tried to flee seeing police. They sustained injuries on their hands and legs.
