milk-seized

TRIVANDRUM: Just five days before, adulterated milk was seized from Aryankavu check post that quickly garnered news. But now the health department has come up with a report that stands in real contrast to the one made by the dairy development board. The health department ruled out any addition of hydrogen peroxide in milk. Incensed by the findings, the minister of animal husbandry, J Chinjurani came out in open against the health department, which eventually forced minister Veena George to do a fact check about the health department's findings.

After this turn of events, accusations are going big against the health department of aiding the private companies that bring tonnes of milk from other states. Meanwhile, the owner of the seized tanker has moved the court to ask for the release of the vehicle. 15,300 litre of milk was seized at Aryankavu checkpost on January 11th. The milk was brought from Thenkashi to a private dairy farm in Panthalam. The immediate test conducted near the lab in Aryankavu checkpost confirmed the presence of hydrogen peroxide.

Immediately after seizing the tanker, the diary department informed the health division about the happenings. But the health officials turned up late and when conducted the test in the health department lab, the presence of hydrogen peroxide vanished.
