On November 28, a man named Khalid was caught with 58gm MDMA near a KSRTC bus stand. The search was extended to find the root behind the supplies that saw the banned substance sprawling into the cities. The city police commissioner gave special directions to Nadakkavu SI who along with a team toiled hard in the terrain of Tamilnadu and Karnataka for months before grabbing the kingpin behind the move.

The police team after reaching Karnataka befriended a Ghana native involved in the drug clan. The arrest of the Ghana native was a furtive process, which later helped in establishing contact with the brain behind the gang— Nigerian native Charles Ofyudil. Charles is a history-sheeter with experience of serving jail terms for supplying banned drugs to youngsters and students.
