THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Commission Chairperson Chinta Jerome responded to the Youth Congress allegations about staying at a four-star resort in Kollam. Chinta said that she stayed at the resort for a few days considering her mother's treatment and it was because she could not leave her home alone and requested those who criticized her to understand her condition.

Mother had a stroke and we had to renovate the house because it had no attached bathroom. Mother needed treatment. Chinta said that an apartment below the apartment where the doctor who treats her mother lives was rented.

Following the controversy, the Youth Congress marched to the resort in Thangassery, Kollam demanding the resignation of Chintha's Youth Commission Chairmanship.
