THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There will be a delay in the announcement of BJP candidates for major constituencies in the state for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Although the party usually starts functioning by announcing candidates early, the leadership has decided not to do so this time in Kerala. The list of BJP candidates will be released after the announcement of candidates of other parties.

BJP will be focusing on six constituencies in the state. The party has hope in constituencies like Thiruvananthapuram, Attingal, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Palakkad and Kasaragod. The BJP's assessment is that the party's chance of winning has increased this time. Kerala Prabhari Prakash Javadekar has also given such a report. Amit Shah is in charge of Kerala. A three-member committee has been constituted, with former Yuva Morcha state president Adv Sudhir as its convener, for election preparations. Other members of this committee are B Gopalakrishnan and Prakash Babu. They will be the ones who will implement election preparations by contacting the leadership in Delhi. They had participated in the review meeting of the election preparations held in Delhi last week under the leadership of Amit Shah.

The Congress used to have an upper hand in the Lok Sabha in Kerala in the previous elections. The Congress got good popular support in the last election as well as many thought that the grand old party will return to power. Both the dominant fronts in the state continue to have no participation in the central government. With this, it is estimated that the Centre has not been giving Kerala due consideration while announcing development projects in the last 10 years. People's representatives from Kerala do not have enough influence on the central government and ministers. It is a setback for Kerala, which has many expatriate entrepreneurs and workers. It is considered that the people of the state are not benefiting from the 20 MPs as all of them are in opposition. The BJP is assessing that the feeling of voting for the BJP at least in the Lok Sabha elections has strengthened among the voters in the state. The popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased in Kerala. According to the survey report, one-third of the voters in Kerala like Modi.
