THRISSUR: Chancellor Mallika Sarabhai said that to solve the financial crisis of Kalamandalam, a package will be made after discussing with the employees and stakeholders and will try for overall improvement. She was speaking at the face-to-face program of the Thrissur Press Club. Fundraising will be considered in connection with non-governmental organizations including the tourism sector. Although fundraising is not easy, she is taking the responsibility.

Discussions have been held with VC and Registrar regarding the settlement of salary arrears. December's salary will be paid this week. Government has not increased the grant in budget. A fresh installment of regular grant has been applied for. Bringing people, including the youth, closer to art will make Kalamandalam more vibrant and popular.

Traditional arts, including Kathakali, will be interwoven with Western and African art forms. Discrimination against women should be avoided in all fields. For that their fear has to be removed. It is not right to exclude women from institutions and public life. But she said that it is good that women are now coming forward in various fields.
