NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lashed out against the opposition in the Lok Sabha. Modi said that the country has become corruption-free under BJP rule and India's image has improved in front of the world. The Prime Minister also blamed the UPA regime saying that only terror attacks and corruption happened during that period. Modi also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

“The mindset of some people became clear from the response in the Lok Sabha. This great leader even insulted the President. He revealed himself through this response. Not a single person who spoke from the opposition mentioned the President's speech”, he said.

“World nations are looking up to India's development. Congress is interested in corruption politics and not in politics for the welfare of the people. The downfall of Congress will continue. They have no connection with the people. Modi won’t be destroyed by Congress or media. Congress is protecting the family and I am protecting the country. The people of the country is my protective shield and lies cannot penetrate that shield.”, he said.

Earlier, when the Prime Minister's speech started, the opposition tried to disrupt the speech with loud slogans. At first, BRS members boycotted the speech and walked out. Later, Congress members also left the House. But DMK, NCP and Trinamool MPs remained in the House. The protest of the opposition MPs demanded a JPC inquiry into the Adani controversy.
