THODUPUZHA: The vigilance have arrested a forest range officer who was taking bribe from the accused to cover up the case of capturing deer horn in a raid conducted at his house as part of Operation Kubera. Thodupuzha Forest Range Officer Libin John was arrested by vigilance. The arrest took place at Libin’s quarters.

Libin John demanded one lakh rupees and liquor to cover up the case and avoid arrest. It was delivered to the range officer's quarters at Muttom. After that, the officer demanded Rs 1 lakh again. Following this, the complainant approached the vigilance.

The accused was nabbed by a team led by Idukki Unit DYSP Shaju Jose on the directions of SP VG Vinod Kumar, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Kottayam Eastern Range. The range officer will be produced in court on Thursday.
