LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh minister of Animal Husbandry Dharam Pal Sigh on Wednesday said touching or hugging a cow can curb the ailments and will maintain the BP level to the needed numbers. Singh’s statement comes in the backdrop of the earlier decided move to hug and touch cows during valentine’s day on February 14th. Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) made the announcement just days back and urged all citizens to embark on a change during this year's valentines day.
“I welcome and appreciate this order. I congratulate Animal Welfare Board. Cow is 'mother of the nation' and our 'bhaagyavidhata'. Besides being 'pyaar ki bhoomi', it's also 'karmabhoomi',” the UP minister said.
Criticism and trolls were galore on social media after the announcement. Meanwhile, the minister and the animal husbandry board advocated that this change will rejuvenate back the long-faded Indic culture among people who are busy espousing western doings during the 14th of February.
