KOCHI: A new way for smuggling gold. A woman who created fake menstruation and smuggled gold was arrested. The incident took place at the Nedumbassery airport. The woman who came from Riyadh smuggled 582 grams of gold.

She artificially created menstruation using paint and chemicals to hide gold. When she tried to pass through the green channel, the customs officials became suspicious. When the officials demanded a physical examination, she said she is having periods. Five gold biscuits were found hidden in her secret part in an examination conducted. It costs around Rs 30 lakh.

Meantime, gold worth Rs 25 lakh was seized from another passenger. He came from Italy on a Qatar Airways flight. 480.25 grams of gold was seized.
