THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the Assembly that 2172 people have been arrested so far in the 'Operation Aag' special drive conducted by the police to crack down on goons. "The police have arrested 900 people accused who have been issued warrants in various cases. As part of the operation, 4085 special drives were conducted and 2030 cases were registered. The operation has been instructed to continue. Since this government came to power, 339 people have been detained under KAAPA Act and five people under PIT-NDPS Act.", he said.
The revenue and local bodies have been directed to provide all necessary support to the companies in charge of the city gas project, such as permission to lay pipelines and for the construction of CNG station. A nodal officer has been appointed to resolve issues related to permission for digging up roads to lay pipelines.
Land allotted for CNG mother station at Life Science Park in Thonnakkal. Availability of natural gas has been ensured in areas like Kanchikode, Kalamassery, Edayar, Angamali etc. Liquid compressed natural gas stations have been installed at Kochuveli and Cherthala.
