MUMBAI: Shiv Sena has come out against Animal Welfare Board’s instruction to celebrate cow hug day on February 14. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that Adani is the ‘holy cow’ for the BJP and they do not need a special day to honor the cow. He was criticizing the proposal to celebrate February 14 as Cow Hug Day, where Valentine's Day is celebrated in the western style.
Sanjay Raut said that Adani is the holy cow for the BJP. “Hence, they have hugged their holy cow and left other cows for us to hug on Valentine’s Day.”, he said. He added that they respect as Gaumata and there is no need of any particular day to show our affection.
The response of Shiv Sena leader came out as the opposition parties are demanding a joint parliamentary inquiry into the stock scam alleging that the BJP is providing necessary protection to Adani. At the same time, the invasion of Western culture brought the Vedic tradition to ruin. Cow is the backbone of Indian culture and rural economy. A cow has immense abilities. Hugging them will bring richness and increase individual and collective happiness. According to the order issued last day by the Animal Welfare Board under the Union Ministry of Animal Welfare, all cow lovers should celebrate February 14 as the Cow Hug Day.
