muslim-women-praying

NEW DELHI: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has informed the supreme court that there is no hindrance to women entering mosques. A public interest litigation was earlier filed by Pune native Farha Anwar Hussain asking the court to intervene and declare unconstitutional the practice of banning Muslim women from entering the mosque.

The board in response added that even in Mecca, women and men circle the holy Kaaba together. In a pointed attack, the board later called the petition, a fabricated one loose on facts. Asserting further, the board replied that Women can enter the mosque but there should be no intermixing as it deviates away from the tenets of the holy scripture. To manage that, segregation of women and men inside the mosque will be made mandatory.
