PATHANAMTHITTA: Mass leave taken by the employees of the Konni taluk office has triggered a controversy. It is being found that the 39 employees who applied for leave went for a planned excursion leaving the people who came to the office in distress. Out of 60 employees, only 21 made it to the office today. Adding more trouble, it has been found that, out of 39 who took leave, only 19 applied for it. After the issue sparked outrage among people, Konni MLA KU Jenish Kumar promised strict actions against the employees and the authorities who sanctioned the leave.
The MLA forwarded the news to the revenue minister, who is expected to take punitive action against employees who are taking leaves at a whim. " Employees taking leave is not forbidden. But how come 39 employees take leave on the same day toiling the people who reach the office for urgent needs," the MLA added.
