death

KOCHI: High court instructs that another life should not be lost and police should take strict action. Action should be taken within 24 hours.
Those on traffic duty should take action on speeding vehicles. Yesterday morning at Madhava Pharmacy junction, Ernakulam, Antony (46), a bike passenger, was run over by a private bus. In the mentioned case which was considered by the court suo moto, Justice Devan Ramachandra gave these instructions.

The number of road accidents in Kerala is very high. The instructions given to the drivers will be followed for some time. And they will be the same again. If they had followed the law, such accidents would not have happened. Priority is given to pedestrians on the road. The consideration for big vehicles is last. Private buses cannot violate it in the name of the schedule.

On the request to consider the bad state of the road, Amicus curiae were appointed and they reported the accident to the court. Kochi DCP S Sasidharan was asked to report to the court and he reported when the case was called again in the afternoon. CCTV visuals of the accidents were checked.

The court pointed out that it is clear from the videos that the private bus driver was negligent in speeding. Action against the driver must be taken at all costs. When asked if there is any pressure to not take action against these people, DCP replied with a no. Court adjourned asking a report to be submitted on the next sitting of the 23rd.

Who are they trying to scare?
High court said that trying to scare with a strike after killing people will not be allowed. Court said this when the state lawyer said that the private bus drivers have threatened to start a strike if action is taken against them. Let them go on strike. Who are they trying to scare?
