THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday said that the continuity of LDF rule was not only about winning elections but also about continuing welfare and development activities. The Chief Minister was inaugurating the state level of the third 100-day action plan of the government. The laying of the foundation stone for the construction of 400 houses as part of the Punargeham project was also done at Muttathara.

"The government is implementing welfare schemes and development activities at the behest of the people. This is a new governance culture. The goal of the government is to do what is said and remove any obstacles. We have never adopted the method of making false promises to keep people with us for temporary purposes. The state did not weaken but grew amidst great crises. Although there is a difficult economic situation in the state, it is not a crisis. We hope that the people will stand with the government to solve it," the CM said.

The Chief Minister said that when the state is denied what it deserves, naturally the people will raise their voices against it. "Some people would prefer that we do not come together to demand what we are due. There were attempts to deny the state what it rightfully deserved and forbid the assistance of the expatriates. Such vested interests should not succeed. Some take a stand without looking at what the situation is, who created it and why. It is meant to weaken the state. If we start doing what people with vested interests say, Kerala will be in darkness," he added.
