BENGALURU: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that Karnataka collected more than Rs 6,000 crore in the goods and services tax category in January. According to the Karnataka CM, the state made a record GST collection of Rs 6,085 crore in the month of January. He also said that the increase in revenue will be reflected in this year's budget as well.

Taking to Twitter, the Karnataka CM expressed his gratitude for the tax reforms, the vigilance of officials and the cooperation of taxpayers. He said that the increase in tax revenue will help the government present a better budget this year. Karnataka is currently the state with a 30 percent growth in GST revenue.
