CHANDIGARH: The BJP government in Haryana has imposed strict restrictions on the dress code for doctors and medical staff in government hospitals. Haryana Health Department has directed that doctors should not wear jeans and T-shirts in hospitals. They have also been directed not to use make-up and grow nails. The health department said the directive is applicable to doctors and employees of government hospitals seven days a week and during night duty.


The government has also directed doctors not to sport funky hairstyles. According to the government, the action was taken to bring professionalism. Health Minister Anil Vij said the directive will be applicable to the staff and trainees working in all government health centres.
