KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the foreign method of working along with studying will be implemented in the state as well. He was inaugurating the Professional Students Summit at Angamaly.
Work along with studies attracts students to go abroad. Industry on Campus, Young Innovators Program, etc. were implemented to provide such facilities here as well. The aim is to turn the youth into entrepreneurs and employers. All assistance will be given to those who come forward to turn innovations into products and enterprises. All professional students will be provided opportunities for internships similar to medical and law students.
The country's first Technopark and first electronic parts manufacturing company were in Kerala. 75 percent of the companies in the fish processing sector have U certificates in Kerala. Kerala has the largest number of artificial teeth manufacturers in the world. Companies like Airbus, Nissan, Tech Mahindra, and Taurus also came to Kerala. Last year, Kerala was ranked 15th in the industry-friendly environment ranking.
3,500 crore has been earmarked in the budget for science and technology research and development. The Medical Technology Innovation Park will become a reality by the end of this year. 10 crores have been earmarked for the manufacturing of medical equipment and 559 crores for the IT sector, Chief Minister said. Minister Dr. R Bindu presided. Bharat Biotech Executive Chairman Dr. Krishna Ella was the chief guest. Chief Secretary VP Joy, Higher Education Department Principal Secretary Ishita Roy, ASAP CMD Dr. Usha Titus, and others participated.
