THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is hinted that CPM central committee member EP Jayarajan targeted the party's state leadership as well through his explanation in the CPM state committee on the resort allegation controversy. Sources close to EP Jayarajan are raising suspicions that the allegations made against him by P Jayarajan in the state committee in December were part of a conspiracy by some of the state leadership.

EP Jayarajan had said in the state committee the other day that some were attempting to defame him and portray him as a bad person. This statement is considered to raise the suspicion that there is someone else behind P Jayarajan.

EP Jayarajan had taken a leave from the party citing health reasons after MV Govindan was named state secretary and polite bureau member. Sources said that Jayarajan was not happy with Govindan, who is junior to him in the party, becoming state secretary. The absence of EP Jayarajan, the convenor of the LDF, during the protest organized by the LDF in front of Raj Bhavan was a hot topic of discussion.

P Jayarajan raised the financial allegations against EP Jayarajan in the state committee meeting where EP was not present. MV Govindan's suggestion to give a written complaint if any and the silence of CM Pinarayi Vijayan in the meeting raised suspicion in the mind of EP Jayarajan. After that, EP Jayarajan became active in the party programs. He also attended the state committee meeting held in the last two days at the AKG Centre. Leaders, including P Jayarajan, remained silent when EP Jayarajan spoke in the meeting. The fact that P Jayarajan did not give a written complaint has paved the way for a discussion within the party about whether the allegation was a strategy to scare EP Jayarajan.
