PALAKKAD: CPM State Secretary MV Govindan rejects the investigation against KTDC Chairman PK Sasi. He responded yesterday that everything is a media creation and not even the word "investigation" was uttered in the district secretariat meeting.

It is indicated that the district secretariat, which was also attended by the state secretary, decided to conduct an investigation against Sasi on the complaint of misappropriation of party funds. Allegations were made of irregularities in the management of the cooperative college and the collection of party funds.

The state leadership was of the position that the complaint should be investigated by the local committee. But after receiving more complaints, it was decided to investigate. Puthalath Dinesan, a member of the state secretariat, has been appointed for this purpose. It has been suggested that the report should be submitted within a month after collecting the information directly from the Mannarkkad area committee.

Mannarkkad and Cherpulassery area committees filed a complaint against Sasi. The main complaint is that without the knowledge of the party, 5.49 crores have been collected from various cooperative banks ruled by the CPM for the Universal College chaired by Sasi. There are allegations of irregularities in the handling of this amount as well. It is also alleged that 10 lakhs remaining from the amount collected for the construction of the Mannarkkad Area Committee Office during 2009-10 was transferred to his own account.
