THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The international airport in the city has witnessed an 83.6% increase in the traveler count, all in just one year's time. There is also a recorded 31.53% growth in flight movements during the one-year time. In just January alone, 3,23,792 travelers passed through the Thiruvananthapuram international airport, Adani Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Ltd. (ATIAL) informed. In 2002 January, the numbers were just 1,76,315.

The average daily passenger traffic in January has soared from 5687 to 10445 in one year. The air traffic movement also saw a similar uprise from 1671 to 2198. The airport is bustling with services that include 131 domestic flights and 120 international flights in a week.

The connectivity has also increased to 12 international destinations including Doha, Dammam, Muscat, Bahrain, Singapore, and Colombo to name a few.
