KOCHI: KSRTC management has informed the High court that all moves to increase the salary of staff are being toppled by unions and a certain sect of employees. The KSRTC management was responding to a petition that questioned the halt of pensions to people who retired after January 2022. It has turned out to be the new normal of KSRTC to place an impediment to all pragmatic moves.
978 people retired from service after January 2022. Only 23 among them have received the benefits. The management asked the court for a deadline of two years to complete all the stalled payments. The management has also solicited Rs 50 crore from the government to complete the payment. The KSRTC opened to the court about the current predicament and the wrecked finance that makes it impossible to complete payments to employees and pensioners alike.
