KOZHIKODE: The details in the postmortem report of Adivasi youth Viswanathan, who was found hanging near the government medical college, have come out. Preliminary information in the postmortem report rules out the possibility of mob violence. It is believed that Viswanathan committed suicide.

According to the forensic surgeon, no injuries or scars were found on Viswanathan's body to prove a mob attack. There were six wounds on his body. However, the doctor found that all those wounds were caused when the body rubbed against the tree on which he was found hanging. The City Police Commissioner said that a scientific investigation into the incident is still going on.

Kalpetta Paravayal Colony native Viswanathan, who came to medical college for the delivery of his wife, was found hanging near the hospital the other day. He was found hanging after being assaulted by a mob that accused him of theft. Viswanathan's relatives alleged that he did not commit suicide and that he was beaten to death by the mob. The relatives also filed a complaint against the security personnel who questioned Viswanathan at the security gate.
