PATHANAMTHITTA: Several officials, including the Tehsildar and Deputy Tehsildar of the Konni Taluk office, may soon face action for taking mass leave and insulting Jenish Kumar through a WhatsApp message.

The investigation report of the ADM has indicated that the office work was affected and the public suffered after the officials took mass leave and went on a trip to Munnar. Some of these officials went for the trip without applying for leave. It is learnt that action will be taken against officials soon after receiving the district collector's report. MLA Jenish Kumar is adamant that action should be taken against the officials. He has also conveyed the demand to the Revenue Minister.

Meanwhile, 53 out of 61 employees showed up for work on Monday. This is the highest attendance in recent times. Heavy police security was deployed in the office following the warning that there may be protests against the employees. Barricades were erected. Tehsildar L Kunjachan reached the office early. Konni DySP K Baijukumar reached the spot and assessed the situation. BJP workers held a protest march. District President VA Sooraj inaugurated the event.
