Pinarayi government looting people
UDF convener M M Hassan said the Pinarayi government is looting the people by imposing anti-people tax. There has never been a time when the people had suffered so much, Hassan said while inaugurating the state-wide day and night strike in front of the secretariat. The UDF are protesting for the people of Kerala. The biggest programmes were implemented for the people in Kerala during the UDF government. UDF did not introduce anti-people taxes at that time. It is a double blow for the state government to act like this after the Center increased the tax on petrol and diesel and looted the people.

The government, which is indebted to the people, will not increase tax on petroleum products like this. This will have a more negative impact on people's lives in the context of rising prices. Hassan also said that the government should take steps to reduce taxes by avoiding arguments that ridicule the people.

UDF district chairman P K Venagopal presided. UDF leaders Johnny Nellore, Bimapalli Rasheed, Palode Ravi, M R Manoj, Khudaikkal Jamal Karumam Sundaresan, Iravur Prasannan, M Vincent MLA, Kottarakkara Ponnachan, N Sakthan, N Peethambara Kurup and G Sabodhan spoke. Opposition leader V D Satheesan will inaugurate the ending of the strike.
