PALAKKAD: There was an attempt to break open an ATM and rob money after bursting crackers. The incident happened Tuesday early morning at 3 am at Mannacaud in Palakkad. The accused tried to destroy the ATM of South Indian Bank. The robbery attempt failed after the alarm went off. The CCTV footages of it have been released.

The burglar wearing a blue shirt and a black pant entered the ATM after covering his face. He later burst the crackers on all sides of the ATM and then ran out. Soon the alarm of the ATM went off. With this, he fled from there. The bank manager and other officials immediately got a message of the theft in their phones. They immediately informed the Mannarcaud police. By the time the police reached there, he had fled from there. The police have registered a case and an investigation has started.
