MUMBAI: A youth has dragged a traffic police officer onto the bonnet of a car for over one kilometre when he tried to stop the vehicle during patrolling. The incident took place in Palghar district of Maharashtra. The CCTV visuals of this has been released. The car was driven by a 19-year-old who did not have a driving license.

Somnath Chaudhary, a police constable, was hanging on the bonnet of the car. It is reported that he is injured. The police have registered a case against the person who was driving the car.

Somnath stopped the car when it didn’t follow the signal. While he was asking the driver for details, he accelerated the car hitting the cop and dragging him for over 1.5 km. The constable was rescued by people who came after the car.
