KOCHI: Stale fish was seized from Chambakkara market. The rotten fish was seized during a lightning inspection conducted by the corporation's health department. The fish was brought from Karnataka after mixing good fish and stale ones together. The health department officials are questioning the lorry driver after seizing the fish.
Stale fish was seized in Ernakulam last week also. The worm-eaten fish was seized from two containers in Maradu, Ernakulam. 164 boxes of rotten fish were found during an inspection conducted by the health department of Maradu municipality following the complaint of the locals. Residents complained of foul smell from the containers parked beside the national highway in Maradu. One container contained 100 boxes and another contained 64 boxes of rotten fish.
