ALAPPUZHA: The complainant turned in favour of AP Sona who was expelled from CPM for capturing obscene visuals of women. Sona, who was a member of CPM Alappuzha South area committee, was expelled from the party after it was discovered that he had captured nude pictures and videos of many women on his mobile phone. The action was based on the report prepared by the party inquiry commission. But the complainant raised a serious allegation in the press conference today that this report has sabotaged her complaint.

The woman alleged that she filed a complaint with the party in connection with a financial transaction and the obscene visuals were added in it. She filed a complaint when the leaders said that they would help to get the money back. Mao and VG Vishnu wrote the complaint. Vishnu's wife also helped to prepare the complaint. The complainant also said in the press conference that Sona had not sexually assaulted her. The woman also alleged that the leaders conspired to sideline Sona in the party. Sona's sister also attended the press conference along with the complainant. Sona had borrowed one and a half lakh rupees from the woman. Rs 1 lakh was returned. The complainant said that only Rs 50000 remains to be received.

At the same time, the members of the inquiry commission saw the evidence against Sona and it became controversial. Many people criticized the handling of the sexual assault allegations at the party level without handing them over to the police. Action was taken against Sona on the basis of the report of the two-member inquiry commission appointed by the district leadership. The investigation was conducted under the leadership of district secretariat members A Mahindran and G Rajamma.
