POTHENCODE: The police have registered a case against the CPM area secretary who was traveling in his own vehicle with an attached beacon light. The beacon light is attached to the official vehicles of Chief Ministers, ministers and other VVIPs.
The beacon light is installed in front of CPM Mangalapuram area secretary Madhu Mullassery's Innova Crysta vehicle. Last night during the vehicle inspection, the police officers who were on duty saw a vehicle with a beacon attached to it and gave a salute, thinking it might be a minister.
When the car passed by, they realized that it was not a VIP. During the further investigation, it was identified that the car belonged to the area secretary. The SI contacted the secretary on the phone and asked to change the beacon light as soon as possible. But the secretary argued with the officer. As the incident became controversial, Mangalapuram police registered a case. Mangalapuram police said that if the beacon light is not removed within ten days, then they will inform the MVD. Following this, the area secretary removed the beacon light from his car.
