BEIJING: Taiwan army has confirmed spotting remnants of a Spy balloon near a strategic island located near the Chinese coast. The accusations surface just days after America did an unprecedented shootdown of a Chinese spy balloon that got inside the United States demarcation lines.

China has long tried intruding on Taiwan's airspace and has strongly asserted, even on international podiums that Taiwan comes under the umbrella of one china policy. For years, China has stationed forces near the Taiwan borders and has crept inside irking the ruling elites in Taiwan with threatening moves challenging the sovereignty of the nation.

After the American incident, Taiwan went ahead in high vigil searching the borders and even made statements denying any presence of Chinese intrusion. However appallingly, the Taiwan-controlled archipelago near the Chinese coast of Fuzhou observed an unknown object falling and later found remnants of a balloon that they highly suspect of Chinese dark hands.

The box marked in the balloon carries Chinese characters inscribed as Radio No. 1 factory Taiyuan. Taiyuan is a major city in Northern China. Some meteorological instruments were also found during the search conducted by the Taiwan army.

Last month, the people's liberation army of China conducted drills along the border of Taiwan raising tensions and inviting criticism from the international community. Many among the geopolitical erudite still fear a Chinese intrusion into Taiwan, mimicking the exact of what Russia did to Ukraine in the late February of 2022.
