KARACHI: Armed men forced an entry into the police headquarters in Karachi and opened firing. The police have stationed snipers near the headquarters and the exchange between the two sides is going on. It is suspected that at least eight terrorists are still hiding inside the building waiting to trigger their guns. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan took responsibility for the attack. Meanwhile, Pakistan rangers and other forces have circled the building. The terrorists are said to have in stock grenades and handguns with they brandished toward the forces.

Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah has deputed more forces into the area. The country was mired in crisis following a financial downfall in recent times. This attack adds to the injury. Albeit this, many overseas cricket players are stationed in Pakistan for playing in the Pakistan super league. Their security raises an additional burden for the forces in the city.
