KAYAMKULAM: CPM state secretariat member Puthalath Dinesan on Friday said that party leaders should not damage the popular support of the party by encouraging and helping quotation groups and violence. He criticised the leaders during the Kayamkulam area committee meeting.
The members levelled strong allegations against a district committee member and the vice president of the district panchayat. U Prathibha MLA also took a stand against them. With that, Dinesan raised criticism against the leadership. Dinesan pointed out various complaints such as the attacks at the Kayamkulam taluk hospital, vandalism of a party member's hotel in Kareelakulangara, and the controversial obscene conversation over the phone. He said that it was dishonourable for the party to help those accused.
The meeting was to discuss the document approved by the state committee and the organizational documents of the district and area committees. Four members of the district secretariat, including the district secretary R Nasar, also participated.
