THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 6005 teaching vacancies will be created in the new posts decided for schools. The government will protect 4634 teachers who have lost their jobs. Those who have remained in the allotted post in 2019-20 and have been excluded from the post determination for this academic year will be protected. 1638 posts were lost in government schools and 2996 posts in aided schools.

If the post is lost in one school, a new post is needed in another school. Those in government schools will be restructured. Those in the aided sector will be protected by calculating the student-teacher ratio. The proposal to create new posts has been handed over by the Education Department to the Finance Department. A slight change in the job loss figures released yesterday. Aided job loss is 2996. It was said 2,925 the other day.
