THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The KSRTC management said that the distribution of salary for the month of February of KSRTC employees will be based on the new order. 65 percent of salary will be disbursed as first installment. The remaining amount will be paid in subsequent installments.

But the employees are of the position that they cannot accept this decision. The union demands that the full salary be paid on the fifth day itself. The unions have decided to continue the protest demonstrations organized yesterday against the management's stance. Management reiterates that they cannot do anything beyond disbursement of salaries in installments. The management adds that the financial crisis is so severe that they cannot pay the full salary unless they receive government assistance.

In the current situation, the labour unions are embarking on a move to intensify the strike. CITU has also announced a march to the chief offices on 28th. TDS and BMS are planning to expand the protest statewide. The organizations have decided to spread the protest, which was held only in Thiruvananthapuram in the first phase, to the entire state. As part of this, the employees protested by burning the copy of salary order in all the depots of the state yesterday. CITU , in Kollam, protested by burning the effigy of CMD Biju Prabhakar.
