THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM's error rectification document stated that several leaders have developed an arrogant attitude after the party came to power for the second time in a row. The rectification document approved by the state committee meeting held on December 22 and 23 directed that the party leaders and workers should be freed from the desire to grab positions.
The document stated that some leaders consider it a right to help relatives and friends get jobs. This will create a rift between the party and the people. The fact that those who really need protection are not getting it is causing problems for the party. A strict stand should be taken in such matters, the document read.
No compromise with corruption
There should be a no-compromise approach towards corruption. There are whispers among the ranks about some who are earning through short-term party activities. Some people in the party are looking for different ways to earn money. Leaders and workers continue to collaborate with those working in things like real estate. Such tendencies should be corrected by proper scrutiny in all committees. In this regard, decisions of the Palakkad Plenum should be strictly implemented.
