CHERUTHURUTHI: Devaswom Minister K Radhakrishnan said that it was Kerala Kaumudi who had rightly convinced the people of social inequality and denial of justice. He was inaugurating the Kerala Kaumudi Bureau at Cheruthuruthy Chungam Konikkal Complex. Kerala Kaumudi was and still is valued as a newspaper that stood for social justice.
This newspaper has always stood on the side of truth. It was led by editor Sukumaran. Recent events make it clear that inequalities and denial of justice are increasing in the country. Although it is a matter of pride that after 75 years of independence, the President of India has emerged from a tribal community due to the untouchability that still prevails in the country, sometimes it is impossible to walk with your head held high.
In our country, water was given in different vessels to the lower community. A child being brutally beaten for drinking water from an upper caste bowl is highly objectionable. Two youths were burnt to death on suspicion of cow smuggling. Caste system is not recognized as a hindrance to the progress of the country. It is said that the happiest people are in Finland. But Kerala also has that happiness. This is because there are very few caste discriminations. The media should focus on making the lower classmen self-sufficient rather than marketing them. We should keep up with the growth of the country. Media should not limit itself to emotional issues. Ignore those who are doing nothing and making accusations. He said that Kerala Kaumudi has always had a progressive attitude.
