LONDON: Mahashivratri is the most auspicious day to worship Lord Siva. This year's Mahashivratri celebrations at the Kent Ayyappa temple were held from 6 pm on Saturday, February 18 to 6 am the following day. On that day there was Shri Ayyappa Puja and other special pujas and rituals. Shri Ayyappa Puja was performed from 5 pm to 8:30 pm.

On the occasion of Ayyappa Puja, there were bhajans, lamp pooja, ghee abhisheka, sahasranamarchana, Shani dosha Puja (niranjanam), lamp worship, padipuja, harivarasanam, prasad distribution, and food donation. Sri Venkatesh Swamy from Bristol presided over the pujas. All irrespective of caste, religion, color, and language participated in the pujas.
