BHOPAL: A former student was arrested for setting ablaze the principal of a private pharmacy college. The incident happened at BM College of Pharmacy, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. 50-year-old principal Vimukta Verma was set on fire by Ashutosh Srivastava (22), a former student of the college. The attack was over the delay in the issuance of her mark sheet.
The incident happened last evening at 4 pm. Ashutosh asked Srivastava for the mark sheet while the principal was getting into the car to return home from the college and the two got into a heated argument. Ashutosh then poured petrol on the principal and set her on fire. She is in a critical condition with 80 percent burns. Ashutosh also suffered burns. After the incident, he fled from the spot and tried to commit suicide by jumping into the waterfall, police said. Ashutosh was arrested a few months ago for attacking another teacher of the college with a knife on the same issue. He was released from jail on bail a few days ago.
