KOCHI: A man who tried to sneak gold through the Nedumbassery airport in Kochi was arrested. Gold was tightly stitched inside the slippers and with a more thorough search, capsule-size gold was also found in the posterior of the man.

The culprit tried taking the gold through the green channel in the airport. The seized gold was worth Rs 85 lakh. The customs initially took no notice but found a mismatch in the footwear of the man. Taking the search further, gold was found neatly mixed and stitched inside the footwear.
