LONDON: Britain is reportedly facing a severe tomato shortage. Bad weather in southern Europe and northern Africa has left Britain in a crisis. The British rely heavily on countries such as Morocco and Spain for their tomatoes. But in both these places tomato production has been affected and the crisis has elevated.
Why do we think this is happening? https://t.co/6JtDhCZrjp

In the African country of Morocco, farmers are struggling with cold weather, heavy rains and floods. The harvest has also been poor in Spain for three or four weeks due to bad weather. Apart from this, reports indicate that traffic disruptions due to heavy rains have also severely affected the movement of goods. This made it difficult to get vegetables into the UK.

Many pictures of empty shelves in British supermarkets have been circulating on social media. Some supermarkets have posted notices explaining why tomatoes are not available.
