IDUKKI: Order issued to capture Arikomban, who is wreaking havoc in residential areas, with tranquilizer shots. The chief life warden has issued an order to capture Arikomban who is obstructing the independent life of the people in Chinnakanal and Santhanpara panchayats of Idukki. The action was taken after examining the report of Chief Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Arun Zakaria to solve the wild tusker problem.
Forest Minister AK Saseendran also informed that orders have been issued to capture Arikomban who is causing problems in the areas under the Idukki Munnar division. Following the order, Congress called off the hunger strike in Poopara, which was done to find a solution to the wild tusker nuisance.

The order of the chief life warden is to capture the elephant that is constantly destroying the ration shop, and release it back into the forest or monitor it by attaching a GSM collar. Due to the challenging geography of the area, the elephant will be monitored with a GSM radio collar if it is impossible to move the elephant to a vehicle. The order also states that if there is a situation where the elephant needs to be moved to a cage, he can be moved to the Kodanad elephant cage.

Last day, Emily's house at 301 Colony, Chinnakanal was destroyed and the tusker was once again spreading fear, and the order was given to catch the elephant with a tranquilizer shot amid this. Two people fell and got injured while running in fear after seeing the elephant destroying the house.

Arikomban, who looks to be in his thirties, had broken into three shops last month alone and looted ration rice. Meanwhile, according to the decision of the mission team, Chief Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Arun Zakaria's report was received by Munnar DFO last day. He checked the report and handed it over to the high-range circle CCF. After his inspection, the report was submitted to the Chief Wildlife Warden. The report stated that the dangerous Arikomban should be removed from the place.
