THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government insurance scheme MEDISEP for state employees and pensioners will not see more addition of dependents, said a new circular. The government informed about the halt made and said until further notice, there won't be any more addition to the scheme.
Meanwhile, newborns and recently married couples are excluded from the list. For newborns, the name should be registered within 180 days after birth, while for newly wedded couples, the deadline is 30 days. The DDOs will take up the applications and will move ahead updating the list in proper order.
MEDISEP works in tandem with the oriental insurance contract which has already given a deadline of August 25 2022 to enter names. MEDISEP has already transferred the list to the government.
Along with the new circular, MEDISEP won't reimburse money for treatment conducted in hospitals not empaneled under the insurance scheme. Exclusions are only given for heart-related treatments and accidents. For this to be done, the form should be filled out from the MEDISEP website and the same needs to be mailed to medisep@orientalinsurence.co.in and info.medisep@kerala.co.in in scanned format. Other than the online method, no such applications will be accepted.
