THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC's ultimatum to hand over the block and DCC-level reorganization list for districts by the 18th of this month did not work. Only Alappuzha district provided the list. With this, the attempt to enter into the initial steps of the reorganization before the AICC plenary session failed.
The district-level reorganization committees will meet and prepare the list only after the plenary session. With this, the reorganization is sure to be long.

The first move was to complete the reorganization up to the DCC level within four months. The talks did not move forward due to frequent KPCC changes in norms and pressure from activists for tenure. The district leaders reached an agreement to continue the discussion after the Raipur plenary session. As soon as this became news, KPCC gave strict instructions to the DCCs to submit the panel by 18th. KPCC gave an ultimatum to hand over the list by the 18th to get the draft list approved when the AICC went to the plenary session. In most of the districts, the dispute continues due to the displacement of aspirants. In Pathanamthitta, it has led to an open fight. There are many people in the field for DCC office bearers and Block Congress presidency. Senior leaders are also putting pressure on the likes. All this became a headache for the reorganization committees.

The leaders are going to Raipur today for the AICC plenary session. The matters will be considered only after their return.
