THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI State Executive Committee meeting decided to seek an explanation from former district secretary KK Sivaraman over the lapses in organizational procedures in connection with the incident in which some members of the Idukki District Council took initiative and bought a second-hand car for him. The decision was taken in the meeting where it was decided to appoint a commission of inquiry against Pathanamthitta District Secretary AP Jayan in financial charges related to Dairy Farm.

The direction to buy a second-hand car for Sivaraman, who was facing physical difficulties, was made in the Idukki District Council. Following this, a car worth around Rs 7 lakh was bought. Some members of the district council had personally taken the initiative to raise funds and buy the car for Sivaraman considering that Sivaraman, who is facing financial difficulties, could not afford to buy a car on his own.

The complaint is that although the decision was taken with the approval of the district council, neither Sivaraman nor the Idukki district council fulfilled the responsibility of communicating it to the state centre. The state leadership took this seriously and decided to seek an explanation from Sivaraman. Sivaraman was the CPI Idukki district secretary for 16 years.
